Keeping joints healthy depends not only on daytime activity but also on repair at night: growth hormone is released mainly during deep sleep. Chronic short sleep cuts deep sleep; how much that affects joint repair has not been measured directly, but the mechanism points the wrong way.

Screen light before bed suppresses the evening rise in melatonin and pushes back the time you start to feel sleepy. So staying up late is not only a matter of willpower; part of it is light delaying your body clock.
Pairing caffeine with theanine may take some of the edge and jitteriness off the lift, but that only smooths the curve; it does not raise alertness. On a night without sleep, it improves how the hours feel, not how alert you can get.

An all-nighter and insomnia are different problems and should not be handled the same way: an all-nighter is a one-off burst of sleep pressure that you pay back; if you often cannot fall or stay asleep even when you have the chance, that is chronic insomnia, and it calls for cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).
If you are still sleepy in the daytime after a full night, the problem is not how long you sleep: your sleep may be broken up again and again by pauses in breathing, which calls for a check for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and catching up on sleep will not fix it.
